Welcome to Andy’s Bistro

Seating for a mere 40 patrons...
The little town of Jasper Alberta has been a destination for world travelers since the beginnings of the 20th Century.

Visitors came for the mountain vistas and, occasionally, an adventure. In the early days adventure was part of just getting there.

Today, while the vistas have not changed the adventures are less life threatening. Indeed, adventures can now include such urban delights as world class cuisine.

Andy’s Bistro is such a treat... and our lives are all the richer for it.

World-Class Cuisine comes to Jasper National Park

By the early 1980’s the dining rooms of the Jasper hotels had become the major eating establishments in this international tourism destination. The hotels had discovered that a great way to add a competitive advantage was to hire a real chef and put him or her in charge of their dining room.

It was into this period of Jasper’s evolution that Andy Allenbach, a young, Swiss-born, internationally-trained chef came to town.

Within the restaurant business it is generally recognized that staff tend to move. Some of those at the top long for restaurants of their own and a chance to explore their art.

When the opportunity presented itself, Andy struck out on his own and openend Andy’s Bistro.

Lucky us!
